FORM XPS – Cleat Lateral (Q-Factor) and Aft (3-hole) Adjustment Adapters
FORM Cleat Extender Plate XPS is a professional biomechanical solution designed to increase the range of lateral (horizontal) and aft (vertical) adjustment. The XPS model is dedicated to cyclists looking to optimize their stance width (Q-Factor) and achieve stable support when moving the cleat rearward.
Important note: If your primary goal is extreme aft cleat positioning (mid-foot position), check out the FORM XPR model, which offers up to 20 mm of aft adjustment.
TECHNICAL COMPARISON: FORM XPS vs. FORM XPR
| Feature | FORM XPS (Dual Focus) | FORM XPR (Aft Focus) |
|---|---|---|
| Aft Adjustment (Vertical) | 8 mm rearward | 20 mm rearward |
| Lateral Adjustment (Horizontal) | 10 mm (medial/lateral) | 3 mm (medial/lateral) |
| Primary Goal | Q-Factor and cleat position optimization | Extreme Mid-foot / Achilles relief |
| Required saddle drop | Typically none | Yes (crucial) |
POSITIVE EFFECTS AND BENEFITS
- Stance Width Optimization: Allows for the ideal foot stance width, crucial for proper knee tracking (leg alignment).
- Reduction of knee pain: Reduces lateral or medial knee pain by adapting stance width to pelvic anatomy.
- Equipment Protection: Enables the shoe to be moved away from the crank arm, preventing rubbing.
- Biomechanical Support: An additional 8 mm of aft adjustment helps relieve stress on the locomotor system.
TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS (XPS)
| Lateral Adjustment | 10 mm (inward or outward) |
| Aft Adjustment | 8 mm heelward shift |
| Threaded Inserts | M5, 4 mm length (stainless steel) |
| Plate Construction | Flexible design conforming to shoe curvature |
Technical note: The L/R choice refers to the offset built into each plate, allowing for inward (IN) or outward (OUT) foot positioning. FORM XPS/XPR Installation Instructions
