FORM XPS – Lateral (Q-Factor) and longitudinal block adjustment adapters (3-hole)
The FORM Cleat Extender Plate XPS is a professional biomechanical solution designed to increase the range of lateral (horizontal) and longitudinal (vertical) adjustment. The XPS model is designed for cyclists seeking optimized stance width (Stance Width / Q-Factor) and stable support when the cleat is moved rearward.
Important Note: If your main goal is to have the cleats extremely rearward (mid-foot position), check out the FORM XPR model, which offers up to 20mm of longitudinal adjustment.
TECHNICAL COMPARISON: FORM XPS vs. FORM XPR
| Characteristic | FORM XPS (Dual Focus) | FORM XPR (Aft Focus) |
|---|---|---|
| Longitudinal adjustment (Vertical) | 8mm back | 20 mm back |
| Side adjustment (horizontal) | 10 mm (medial/lateral) | 3 mm (medial/lateral) |
| Main goal | Q-Factor and Block Position Optimization | Extreme Mid-foot / Achilles Offload |
| Saddle lowering required | Usually not | Yes (key) |
POSITIVE EFFECTS AND BENEFITS
- Stance Width Optimization: Allows you to achieve the perfect foot stance, which is crucial for correct knee tracking (leg alignment).
- Knee Pain Reduction: Reduces lateral or medial knee pain by adjusting the width of your stance to your pelvic anatomy.
- Gear Protection: Allows the shoe to move away from the crank, preventing rubbing.
- Biomechanical support: An additional 8 mm of rear adjustment allows for relief of the musculoskeletal system.
TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS (XPS)
| Horizontal adjustment (Lateral) | 10 mm (inside or outside) |
| Vertical adjustment (Aft) | 8mm offset towards the heel |
| Threaded inserts | M5 4mm long (stainless steel) |
| Construction of the plate | Flexible construction that adapts to the curves of the shoe |
Technical Note: The L/R selection refers to the offset built into each tile, allowing the foot to be moved inward (IN) or outward (OUT). Full instructions: FORM XPS/XPR Installation Guide .
