VoiceVelo Chorus V-Peaks Full Suspension XC – The Foundation of a New Era of Racing
Modern XCO and XCM marathon courses are no longer the flat gravel tracks of years past. Today's racing involves brutal rock gardens, drops, and technical descents interspersed with steep, vertical climbs. The VoiceVelo Chorus V-Peaks frame was created in response to these demands. It is an uncompromising full-suspension platform where every element of the suspension, lateral stiffness, and geometry has been tuned to work in perfect harmony.
At The Bike Lab, we know every nuance of advanced designs. The VoiceVelo Chorus is the ideal base for a customized dream build project, focused on pure performance, stiffness, and feather-light weight.
1. Space-Age Composite: NGF XN-60 Graphite Fiber
This is not a standard, repetitive carbon layup. In key areas of the VoiceVelo frame, advanced NGF XN-60 graphite fiber has been used, with a tensile modulus that is 2.1 times greater than that of the iconic T1000 carbon. Combining it with the proven T800 structure allowed for bottom bracket stiffness of 129.79 N/mm. In practice, this means power transfer similar to rigid hardtail frames – when the damper is locked, every watt generated by your legs immediately transfers to the drivetrain, eliminating any energy loss.
2. "Long and Slack" Geometry Adapted for Pan-XC
Forget the nervous handling of classic mountain bikes. The Chorus introduces progressive downhill geometry while maintaining brilliant climbing characteristics:
- Slack Head Tube Angle (67°): Provides absolute composure, stability, and confidence when tackling steep, technical sections at high speeds.
- Steep Effective Seat Tube Angle (78.3° in size M): Positions the rider's hips in an optimal, biomechanical position over the bottom bracket, maximizing efficiency on steep climbs.
- Compact and Agile Rear (Chainstay 428 mm): Makes the bike respond instantly to input and effortlessly carve through tight, winding singletracks.
- Increased Reach (445 mm in size M): Modern, long cockpit ensures ideal balance and front wheel control.
3. Pro-Level Suspension Kinematics (Anti-Squat 105-115%)
The suspension curve has been precisely calculated using specialized engineering software, dividing the rear's action into three key phases:
- Sensitive Initial Travel (Leverage Ratio ~2.4): Ensures almost smooth absorption of small bumps, roots, and rocks, maintaining permanent rear wheel traction.
- Stable Mid-Travel: The Anti-Squat value is kept stable within the 105–115% range, preventing undesirable suspension bobbing during aggressive cadence and power pedaling.
- Progressive End-Travel (Ratio drops to 1.8): The progression prevents harsh and sudden suspension bottom-out on the most challenging drops and obstacles.
4. ISE (Impact Strength Enhanced) Construction and Premium Standards
Thanks to the ISE (Impact Strength Enhanced) principle, engineers optimized the diameters of the composite tubes, slightly thickening the walls in areas exposed to the greatest stresses (downtube, rear triangle tubes). The result? Extreme impact resistance and full vibration absorption without adding unnecessary grams. The frame weighs only 1495 g (size M, version without damper and metal hardware).
